PINK STREET: During FIAC art fair in Paris, October 2008, Michael Elion (with Lauren Laughlin & Pablo Cavero) painted the street next to the Picasso Museum pink. This gesture re-imagines the urban landscape as a domain in which joy and well-being are given relevance in relation to functionality. It was a challenge to the status quo and asks whether our city spaces could not be re-thought, with happiness as the primary design motivator. (Rue de Thoriny is in the gallery district between Galerie Perrotin and Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac.
